Mikou comes from the “It seemed like a good idea at the time” department. The neighbour’s dog had puppies, they were giving them away for free and they’re sooooo cute, so why not? Fast track to 4 years later, and an overweight 116-pound dog who never went to a vet is surrendered to Kiko due to lack of time.
Mikou was a star in his foster home. He was great with the foster’s own dog and adapted very well to the household routine. We thought we had found a home for him in the city, but things didn’t go very well after just a few days so he came back to our care. We feel that Mikou would be most comfortable in an experienced adult-only home in either the suburbs or a more rural area, environments where he thrived best. A mix of Alaskan Malamute and Lab, Mikou requires a combination of quality food and exercise to continue our mission of getting him in top shape. His previous diet consisted of a bottomless bowl of Ol’ Roy and the majority of his outside time was spent tied up.
If you like large dogs and have solid dog experience, we would love to hear from you. Please complete an adoption questionnaire if you are interested in offering Mikou a home for life.
