We’re still trying to dig into Coco’s past, but he’s one of those dogs that came to us without any history. A very kind lady took in this approximately 5-year-old Jack Russell Terrier from an acquaintance to “try out,” but he proved to be a mismatch with her male German Shepherd. The former owner was moving and didn’t want him back, so her vet suggested she call Kiko.
As far as we can tell, Coco is your typical Jack Russell. Some of the traits that describe this breed are intelligent, stubborn, energetic, and fearless. Indeed, he’s an active dog who would benefit from lots of exercise and stimulation. Coco would make a great running partner and could also be a good candidate for agility or other doggie sports. His confident personality may be too much for young children or inexperienced dog owners, but he’s quite friendly and greets new adults well.
Coco tolerates being crated for a few hours at a time to prevent him from getting into mischief when left alone. Ample exercise will definitely help this energetic little fellow keep out of trouble when he’s on his own, so a combination of walks, runs, stimulating games, and playtime in a fenced yard would meet his needs nicely. Breed knowledge or solid dog experience are requirements for Coco’s forever family, along with someone home for at least part of the day. He would do best as either the only dog or with an easygoing dog that will not be bothered by his strong personality. If you think you meet the criteria for Coco, please complete an adoption questionnaire.
